Now owned and operated by J.J.Burgess & Sons Independent Family Funeral Directors who have a family business pedigree dating back to 1700, we continue to provide the very best to the discerning clients who turn to us at their time of bereavement.

As we are a family business and have to come to terms with our own family bereavements we feel that we are aware of the needs of people when they come into our office. We are proud to have been part of the local community for over 160 years. The family name brings with it quality service, caring staff and compassion for those who need it which is unsurpassed in the Hertfordshire area.
The services offered are of a high standard and offer a wide choice of funerals which are tailored to the individual client, no matter if they are conventional or not.
Burgess Memorials
Burgess Memorials is an established family owned stonemasonary business founded in 1839. We pride ourselves on offering a personal service to help you choose an appropriate and fitting memorial for a loved one that will stand as a lasting act of remembrance. We offer a wide range of memorials which we can get engraved and erect on your behalf. We also provide maintenance, repairs and cleaning services for existing memorials.
We can offer a wide range of cemetery memorials and can add an inscription of your choice. We offer a wide range of services which include obtaining permission from the authorities to erecting the memorial. Our fully trained tradesmen can repair, maintain and renovate memorials as well as the grass area around a grave.
We are flexible and responsive to your needs. We know and appreciate local customs and expectations, because we have served this community for generations.
